BIOGRAPHY
Claudio Nucci was born on june 9, 1956, (Jundiaí, state of São Paulo).
Not a living soul in Brazil would fail to recognize Claudio Nucci's name, voice, songs, and beautiful heart! Hits such as "Toada", "Sapato
Velho" and "Quero Quero" became part of the Brazilian Popular Music songbook and of Brazilian people's life stories.
Claudio Nucci's
career is rich with irrefutable testimonies of musical quality that endures the tests of time. Featured in 1993's Sergio Mendes' "Brasileiro"
CD winner of Grammy for Best World Music Album, or as a member of acclaimed group "Boca Livre" featured in 2003' s Ruben Blades "Mundo" CD,
also winner of Grammy for Best World MusicAlbum, Nucci's mark is unmistakable.
With "Boca Livre" he also toured the U.S. on Ruben Blades'
Coast-to-Coast "Mundo" tour, leading to the above mentioned Grammy Award.
Back in Brazil, Claudio Nucci has collaborated with greats of
Brazilian music such as Chico Buarque and Edu Lobo in "Dança da Meia Lua" and icons such as Milton Nascimento, Nana Caymmi, Guinga, Mario
Adnet and many more.
In 1978 together with Zé Renato, Mauricio Maestro and David Tygel, Nucci formed "Boca Livre" a group that still
today is a landmark in the Brazilian music industry. Their first release, the LP self-entitled "Boca Livre" including some of Claudio's
songwriting, stablished a sales record at the time surpassing 110,000 copies, top-charting in Brazil from North to South, projecting the
group into the limelight of the music scene, not for a season but now for almost 30 years.
Claudio Nucci ventured also into a successful
solo carrier, recording 3 albums under EMI-Odeon: "Claudio Nucci", "Volta e Vai" and "Melhor de Três". These releases were followed by "Pelo Sim, Pelo Não",
and unforgettable album in the company of Zé Renato. Soon after, Claudio Nucci and Zé Renato joined Ricardo Silveira, Marcos Ariel, Zé Nogueira,
João Batista and Jurim Moreira to create another success of sales and critics: "Banda Zil". The CD was released worldwide by Continental and reached
unprecedented sales in the U.S.
With vocal group "Nós e Voz", Claudio is also featured on the CD "Ê Boi", nominated for the Sharp Awards.
"Casa da Lua Cheia" another solo release from 2000 is now re-issued by True Azul Music with worldwide distribution, featuring some of Nucci's greatest hits,
such as "Toada" and "Sapato Velho".
